Sorry Stone Hearth Pizza ...we got distracted by an adorable baby...

So, this week's pizza blog should be Stone Hearth Pizza in Porter Square (there are also locations in Belmont & Needham). We even had guest judges (our friends Evelyn & Paul). However, Evelyn and Paul have one of the cutest babies in the whole wide world - Everett. He was an adorable distraction. So, no official pizza scoring occurred, but a lot of cuteness did.

Overall, we're fans. We ordered extra pizza for leftovers but ended up devouring it all while we were there. Also, their salad dressings don't have soy in them, so Elizabeth was super happy she got to have a Ceaser salad with her pizza.

$18 for a 16" pizza is not cheap, but it was very very good.

Miro's Comments: Good texture, but it's in that watery chunks of tomato style. I want more sauce like flavor.
Elizabeth's Comments: Flavorful and fresh, but very little
JJ's Comments: Excellent. They clearly used high quality, fresh tomatoes
Stacey's Comments: Could be sweeter.

Miro's Comments: Can we get a 10 foot wood fired pizza oven next to our jaccuzi in our dream house?
Elizabeth's Comments: I don't the haphazardly cut slices.
JJ's Comments: I want a brick oven too.
Stacey's Comments: Good flavor & crust. I didn't like the way the pizza was cut; awkward to eat.

What we are eating and why it's not good for us.

Some terrifying facts from the New York Times today about our cheese heavy diet.

In one quarter of a Domino's Pizza:
  • 12 grams of fat
  • 430 calories
  • 990 mg of sodium
Will that stop us?

No.
